For Getting New Pan the
Following Documents are Required.
Individuals.
- Two Photos:recent colour photograph (size 3.5 cm X 2.5 cm).
- Filled Application for Pan card.
- Identification Proof:
- Ration card having photograph of the applicant
- Passport
- Elector’s photo identity card
- Driving License
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Member of Parliament
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Member of Legislative Assembly
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by Municipal Councilor
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Gazetted officer
- National ID / Citizenship ID / Taxpayer ID duly attested by, Apostille (in respect of countries which are signatories to the Hague convention of 1961) or by Indian Embassy / High Commission or Consulate in the country where applicant is located or authorised officials of overseas branches of Scheduled Banks registered in India (applicable for foreign citizens only)
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card issued by Government of India (applicable for foreign citizens only)
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card issued by Government of India
- Aadhaar Card issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India
- Arm’s license
- Pensioner card having photograph of the applicant
- Central Government Health Service Scheme Card
- Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme photo card
- Bank certificate in Original on letter head from the branch (alongwith name and stamp of the issuing officer) containing duly attested photograph and bank account number of the applicant
- Photo identity card issued by the Central Government or State Government or Public Sector Undertaking
- Address Proof:
- Electricity Bill
- Landline Telephone Bill
- Depository account statement
- Credit card statement
- Bank account statement/passbook
- Employer certificate in original
- Passport

- Driving License

- Bank Account statement in country of residence duly attested by, Apostille (in respect of countries which are signatories to the Hague convention of 1961) or by Indian Embassy/ High Commission or Consulate in the country where applicant is located (applicable for foreign citizens only)
- Residential permit issued by the State Police Authorities. (applicable for Foreign citizens based in India only)
- Registration certificate issued by the Foreigner’s Registration Office showing Indian Address. (applicable for Foreign citizens based in India only)
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card issued by Government of India (Applicable for Individuals not being a Citizen of India)
- NRE bank account statement showing at least two customer induced transactions in last six months period and duly attested by Indian Embassy/Consulate/high commission or Apostille or by the manager of the bank in which the account is held
- Visa granted & appointment letter/contract from Indian Company & Certificate (in original) of Indian address issued by employer on employer's letter head mentioning PAN of the employer & copy of PAN Card for the PAN mentioned in the employer’s certificate
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card issued by Government of India (Applicable for Foreign Citizens)
- Aadhaar Card issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India
- Passport of the spouse
- Post office passbook having address of the applicant
- Domicile certificate issued by the Government
- Allotment letter of accommodation issued by Central or State Government of not more than three years old
- Property Registration Document
- Consumer gas connection card or book or piped gas bill
- Water Bill
- Broadband connection bill
Documents for prrof of Date Of Birth (DOB). Docs applicable for the application received on or after Jan 17, 2014
If Pan card Is lost:
- Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Authority or any office authorized to issue Birth and Death Certificate by the Registrar of Birth and Death of the Indian Consulate as defined in clause (d) of sub-section (1) of session 2 of the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955)
- Pension payment order
- Marriage certificate issued by Registrar of Marriages
- Matriculation Certificate
- Passport
- Driving License
- Domicile Certificate issued by the Government
- Affidavit sworn before a magistrate stating the date of birth
If Pan card Is lost:
For Getting New Pan(old pan number):
PAN Number along with above
documents to be Submitted.
For Categories other than Individuals
i.e. Firm, BOI, HUF, AOP, AOP(Trust), Local Authority, Company, Artificial Juridical Person
Proof of Identity and Address :
HUF
Any document prescribed in the case of individuals in respect of Karta of the HUF.
Company
Copy of Certificate of Registration issued by Registrar of Companies.
Firms
Copy of Certificate of Registration issued by Registrar of Firms or Copy of Partnership Deed.
AOP (Trusts)
Copy of Trust Deed or Copy of Certificate of Registration issued by Charity Commissioner.
AOP / BOI / Local Authority/Artificial Juridical Person
Copy of Agreement or Copy of Certificate of Registration issued by Charity Commissioner or Registrar of Co-operative Society or any other Competent Authority or any other document originating from any Central or State Government Department establishing identity and address of such person.
